Hyderabad Feels the Chill as Patancheru Records 14.8°C

Hyderabad: Hyderabad and several surrounding areas have experienced a noticeable chill, with night and early morning temperatures dropping across parts of Telangana over the past 24 hours.

According to data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), Patancheru recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 14.8°C between Sunday evening and Monday morning.

Ameenpur followed with 14.9°C, while BHEL and the University of Hyderabad (HCU) area in Serilingampally recorded minimum temperatures of 15.1°C.

Several Hyderabad Areas Record Cooler Nights

Other locations around Hyderabad also experienced relatively low temperatures. Rajendranagar and Ibrahimpatnam recorded 15.4°C, Moula Ali registered 15.8°C, and Shamirpet recorded 16.6°C, according to TSDPS data.

In the city’s central residential areas, minimum temperatures ranged between 17°C and 19°C.

The cooler conditions have brought a noticeable change in the weather, particularly during early mornings and late evenings.

Clear Skies Contribute to Nighttime Cooling

Clear skies and northerly winds have contributed to the drop in nighttime temperatures following the withdrawal of the monsoon.

During the day, sunny conditions have kept maximum temperatures in Hyderabad between approximately 30°C and 32°C. However, with limited cloud cover, heat escapes more rapidly after sunset, allowing temperatures to fall during the night.

The contrast between warm afternoons and cooler nights has made the change in weather particularly noticeable across the city and nearby districts.

Bay of Bengal Weather System Could Change Conditions

Weather conditions may change later this week as a developing system over the Bay of Bengal approaches the region.

Increased cloud cover could limit nighttime cooling and cause minimum temperatures to rise by around one or two degrees Celsius, according to the forecast outlined in the report.

The extent of the change will depend on the development and movement of the weather system.

Residents Can Expect Cooler Mornings for Now

The recent temperature readings indicate a shift towards cooler nights across Hyderabad and parts of Telangana. Residents may continue to experience a nip in the air during early morning hours, even as daytime temperatures remain relatively warm.

People should follow updated weather bulletins for the latest information on temperature changes and the approaching Bay of Bengal system.
