Hyderabad: A man allegedly killed his father following a property dispute in Dooskal village of Farooqnagar mandal in Rangareddy district in the early hours of Thursday, October 8.
The deceased was identified as Bhagam Pochayya, while his son was identified as Bhagam Mallesh.
According to relatives and neighbours, the father and son had frequently argued over the family property. Mallesh had reportedly sold a portion of the family land earlier and was allegedly pressuring his father to transfer the remaining property to him.
Pochayya was reportedly opposed to handing over the remaining land, leading to repeated disputes between the two.
In the early hours of Thursday, Mallesh allegedly attacked his father with a stone during another confrontation. Pochayya sustained serious injuries and died following the incident.
His body was shifted to a hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Police have registered a case in connection with the incident and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack and the property dispute.
