Hyderabad Weather: IMD Forecasts Rain as Telangana Issues Yellow Alert

Hyderabad: Cloudy skies prevailed across Hyderabad on Wednesday, October 28, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast light to moderate rain and thundershowers accompanied by gusty winds.

A yellow alert was also reported for several districts of Telangana amid expectations of heavy rainfall associated with the weather system described in reports as Cyclone Arnab.

Residents have been advised to consider the weather conditions while planning their daily commute, particularly during periods of rain and reduced visibility.

Rainfall Reported Across Telangana

Several districts of Telangana reportedly received rainfall over the previous two days. According to figures attributed to the Telangana Development Planning Society, Bhadradri Kothagudem recorded the highest rainfall in the cited period at 18.8 mm. Khammam and Mulugu also received significant rainfall.

The eastern districts of Telangana were expected to experience a greater impact from the weather system than Hyderabad, according to the supplied report.

Andhra Pradesh Reports Heavy Rain and Gusty Winds

The supplied report said heavy rain accompanied by gusty winds affected parts of Andhra Pradesh, including the undivided Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna districts.

It also quoted Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority Managing Director Prakhar Jain as urging people to remain alert as the weather system moved across the coast.

What Hyderabad Residents Can Expect

The IMD forecast cited in the report indicated the possibility of light to moderate rain or thundershowers with gusty winds in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Residents should monitor official weather bulletins and local advisories for updates. Those travelling during rainfall should allow additional time for their journeys and exercise caution on wet roads.

Further weather developments will depend on the system's movement and the latest forecasts issued by the meteorological authorities.
