Hyderabad: The Telangana government has officially appointed senior IAS officer Sanjay Jaju as the state's new Chief Secretary, marking an important administrative transition.
Jaju, a 1992-batch IAS officer, returns to the Telangana cadre after serving in the Central Government. Before his appointment, he was serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER). His repatriation to Telangana was approved by the Centre following a request from the state government.
He succeeds K. Ramakrishna Rao, whose extended tenure as Chief Secretary concludes at the end of June. As the state's highest-ranking civil servant, Jaju will oversee the functioning of government departments, coordinate policy implementation and advise the state government on key administrative matters.
During his career, Sanjay Jaju has held several significant positions in both the undivided Andhra Pradesh and the Central Government. He has worked in areas including urban administration, information technology, public service delivery, infrastructure and communications, earning recognition for his administrative experience.
His appointment comes at a time when Telangana is focusing on governance reforms, infrastructure development, digital administration and investment promotion. Officials expect his experience in both state and central administrations to support the implementation of the government's development priorities.
