Hyderabad: The Telangana government has revealed plans to set up India's first dedicated Data Centre City near Hyderabad. The project is part of the state's Future City initiative, which aims to make Telangana a leading destination for technology and digital investments.
The proposed Data Centre City will be designed to support large-scale data centres, cloud computing services, artificial intelligence (AI), and other advanced digital technologies. The government expects the project to attract both Indian and international technology companies.
Officials said the city will have modern infrastructure, reliable power supply, and strong network connectivity to meet the growing needs of the data centre industry. Clean energy options are also expected to be included in the development.
The project is expected to bring significant investment into Telangana and create thousands of direct and indirect jobs in construction, engineering, IT services, cybersecurity, facility management, and other related sectors.
Hyderabad has already become a preferred destination for global technology companies. The proposed Data Centre City is expected to strengthen the city's position as a major hub for digital infrastructure and AI development.
With increasing demand for cloud services and AI across the world, the Telangana government believes this project will support India's digital growth and encourage more technology investments in the state.
