Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh: Three women were taken into custody by Uttar Pradesh Police in Kaushambi district after authorities received information that beef was allegedly being prepared inside a house.
Police visited the location and recovered meat suspected to be beef. Officials said the samples have been sent to a forensic laboratory for testing, and the exact nature of the meat will be confirmed after the report is received.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case under the Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act and other applicable legal provisions.
The three women were arrested, and further investigation is underway. Police said additional action will be taken after the forensic report is available.
Officials have urged people not to spread rumours and to allow the investigation to proceed based on evidence.
